What is "Bird's Eye" - Definition & Explanation

Bird's Eye
Three types:

(1) A clear-finish worsted fabric woven to produce smallindentations suggesting the eye of a bird.

(2) Also known as Diaper Cloth. Fabric woven on a dobby loom ofcardedyarns in tiny geometric designs that look like the eye of a bird, or indiamond effect. Heavier filing yarns are loosely twistedmaking the fabricabsorbent. Usually made of cotton, rayon or blends of them.

(3) Knit fabric with a speckled effect on the back caused by use of differentcolored yarns appearing as a design on the face.
Bird's Eye
A semi-formal pattern often used for business, bird's eye is a worsted yarn made up of two light and dark threads. The weave takes its name from the small, dark and light round dots created, which resemble the eye of a bird.
