What are "butterfly corners" - Definition & Explanation

butterfly corners
A style of cushion or pillow corner, made by drawing a fold from a point approximately 2 in from the corner to meet a corresponding fold made on the adjacent side, and basting this pleat in place. Upon joining the top and bottom plate, line these pleats up and the effect is of a butterfly wing.
